  • British Council ELT 5000 Bilbilography.
    March, 2008
    A number of Marshall Cavendish titles have featured in the annual ELT 5000 Bibiliography compiled by the British Council. The Just Skills Series and English For Business Life course were endorsed by British Council English Language teachers as well as independent sources to appear in the bibliography.

  • Marshall Cavendish acquires Summertown publishing.
    January, 2008
    We are pleased to announce that on 15 January 2008, Times Publishing through its UK subsidiary Marshall Cavendish Limited, completed its acquisition of Summertown Publishing Ltd, a major publisher at the cutting edge of Business English learning materials (see www.summertown.co.uk for details)
    As a result of the acquisition our International Marketing efforts will be strengthened and we will be consolidating the forward publishing programme to produce a greater presence in the ELT market. From 15th January 2008, Summertown will form part of our education publishing business. The titles acquired thereunder will continue to be published under the Summertown brand, but form part of the Marshall Cavendish ELT list.
    Mr. Louis Garnade will continue to work alongside the Marshall Cavendish Management team and contribute to the progress of the publishing programme.

    We would like to welcome Andy Cowle and Henry Tolley to Marshall Cavendish. Andy has worked in ELT publishing and distribution globally for almost 20 years and will be covering Central and Eastern Europe. Henry will be joining us from Longman in Italy and will be responsible for Western European markets. Welcome aboard!
